6 brain exercises to make you happier!

Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer people who would not create prejudices against others every day. Negative thinking and negative prejudices have become almost everyday phenomena.



An attempt by John Cacioppo, professor at the University of Chicago, has shown that the brain showed more electrical activity as a result of negative content than positive information. This was done by first showing a series of positive image sequences (for example, kittens, children) to a group of people, followed by a series of negative and coarse content, and it was observed that the brain reacted more negatively to negative contents.

This is frightening because the brain is more inclined towards negative content than to positive ones. We can change this by transforming positive thinking into a habit. We need to learn more and think better, feel and act positively. How can we train our brain for positive thinking? - These exercises can help!

1. Enjoy the present moment!

Martin Seligman, a prominent representative of positive psychology, emphasizes that we must first influence ourselves what the concept of "good life" means to us. Seligman recommends my "good day" practice: the essence is to imagine how perfect our day would be and try to realize it as much as possible.


2. Breathe consciously

Maybe this is one of the most important tips of all. Breathing has a much greater power than you think. Often we do not notice that we are breathing because it seems so natural, though with the right breathing we can quickly and efficiently relieve many complaints: anger, fatigue, anxiety, tension.


How to breathe correctly?

Sit straight, but in a comfortable position, pull your shoulders back and push your chest slightly.
Place your hands next to you or in your lap.
Breathe in for 3 seconds and observe how the air passes through the respiratory tract, then fills the underside of the abdomen and diaphragm.
Blow out the air for 6 seconds.
Repeat six times.

3. Listen to music!

Whatever the music, the point is to make it cheerful. It may be the essence of light music, rock, pop, folk music, or meditation music to recharge by listening.


4. Express your gratitude!

It is a frequent human feature that we are always looking for something "bigger and better". Look at your life how many times have you thought, "When I finish the school I will be happy" or "When will I have a house ..." "When I get the job I always wanted ..." and so on.



Don't wait to be happy once. Every day you are happy, I think you are always for gratitude. Start each morning by writing 3 things you should be grateful for. This is a good reminder that you should be happy now.

5. Smile

The ear-to-ear smile has enormous power. Not only can we find others to cheer, but every time we smile, our brains produce happiness hormones for our body.


6. Simplify your life

If you are a phone addict, or your habit of overeating, or even the simple things you always complicate, slow down and loosen your life. The less is sometimes more - the saying goes, and that's true. Do not overload our lives with meaningless things.
